In the tranquil garden of Hampshire lies my "shudio"—a blend of shed and studio—where I create stunning glass jewellery through microwave glass fusing.
Microwave glass fusing is a fascinating art that merges traditional glass techniques with modern microwaving. My journey began with a curiosity to create, leading me to this unique method. By layering coloured glass on a base and heating it in a microwave kiln, I transform these layers into a single, unique piece of art.
Living in the Hampshire countryside inspires my creativity, providing the perfect backdrop for my work. The peaceful surroundings help me focus on crafting imaginative designs. I carefully select and arrange different colours and textures of glass, then use a microwave kiln to fuse them quickly—unlike traditional kilns that take hours.
One of the joys of microwave glass fusing is its unpredictability. Each piece emerges with its own imperfections, making every jewellery item unique and loved by collectors. My designs often reflect the beauty of Hampshire, incorporating nature-inspired themes and colours.
