Caroline’s art is united by a driving force of pattern, texture and colour, with nature as her primary inspiration. She finds comfort in the order and symmetry found in our natural environment but also embraces the chaotic unpredictability of life and its perpetual state of flux. Caroline’s work explores a combination of these different elements and how they can work in harmony within one image. Constant experimentation with a wide variety of mediums underpins the development of ideas and often dictates the direction of their outcomes.
Her artwork often evolves through photography which she uses as a backdrop on which to add an instinctive application of a variety of processes. Mixed media has always characterized the artistic style of her work which is constantly evolving. This often occurs naturally through accidental discovery. Additionally a love of Eastern cultures often makes an appearance in some form or another.

After many years of working in the Security Industry as a Security Consultant and Trainer, I finally retired in October 2019 to pursue what had been up until then a hobby, life as a Professional Photographer.
My previous work entailed extensive travel throughout the UK and Europe and at times further afield. Wherever I went I always had a camera with me, and the numerous nights spent in hotel rooms has helped me to gain 20 years of Photoshop know how.
As a photographer I prefer to shoot mostly landscape images, the majority of which are converted to black and white. However, whatever the genre if an image has good texture, lighting and contrast I will probably convert it to black and white.
My experience with Photoshop means I also enjoy repairing and/or restoring images that are damaged, torn or faded.
As I continue my journey as a Professional Photographer, I take with me these two thoughts, firstly there is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes and secondly, every day is a school day - there is always something new to learn!
Gail paints expressively in a variety of media to create atmospheric landscapes. She also is known for her line and wash images of people and animals.
